First of all, I really can’t believe it’s already time for The Summer Reading Guide. Where has this year gone? But I am very excited to share this year’s guide with you. I think this might be my favorite guide yet!
Before we get into the guide, I want to leave you with a heartfelt thank you. The last two years have been a little wonky for me and even when I’ve had to step away or felt like I didn’t have anything left to say, so many of you have stuck around. Finally, I feel like I’m returning to myself and my creativity. I hope you can feel that through the content I’ve been excited to share.
In last year’s guide, I focused on a quote from Annabel Monaghan’s Summer Romance: “What do you want this Summer?” It’s a question and theme that I think will stick with me for the rest of my life and one that appears again in this year’s Summer Reading Guide.
So before you dive in, I hope you’ll join me in asking yourself, “What do you want this Summer?”
With so much uncertainty, anxiety, and frustration in the US right now, the question hits harder for me than in years past. At the start of every year, I choose a word to focus on. For 2025, I chose the word boundless. I want to bring that energy to the Summer season, which feels like the perfect time to check in on my goals and get reinspired for the rest of the year.
My theme for Summer 2025: fulfilled. It’s not a pretty word. It can seem kind of vague. But I want to do everything on my bucket list, I want to keep up the promises I made myself at the start of the year, and I want to control what I can control in these scary and uncertain times.
I hope you enjoy this guide and I hope it brings you so much joy this Summer. I hope you find exactly what you’re looking for and that each day is filled with just a little bit of Summer magic.
