My Summer Bucket List
And How to Make Yours
Every Summer, I make a bucket list. I fill it with things I want to do to make the most of my favorite season. Then every year, September rolls around and I haven’t completed even a third of the items on the list.
Not this year.
This year, I am seizing the Summer with both hands and soaking up every sun-drenched moment with my bucket list and I’ll take you along with me!
When putting together my bucket list, I put a few things on there that are already booked like our annual trip to the lake, concert tickets that have already been purchased, and a premiere party for Every Year After on Prime Video.
Then I thought about the things I want to do and know I can make time for: a morning at the Farmer’s Market, a trip to the Drive In movie theater, and a dinner out at a fabulous restaurant with fantastic patio.
I filled in the rest with my reading goals, classic Summer days like a beach day and hike, and something I haven’t done for years, the Renaissance Faire. Once I added those, I added the things I’d like to do but don’t have booked yet: a week long writing retreat, a spontaneous weekend trip somewhere coastal, a baseball game (either our minor league team here in Buffalo or a Blue Jays game in Toronto!), learning to grill, and berry picking at our local CSA farm.
We’re going to do our garden this weekend (later than I’d like but May was SO busy), and I’ll start my rewatch of The Summer I Turned Pretty when my husband leaves for his annual golf trip.
Summer Bucket Lists don’t need to be these expensive or unattainable lists. I think they’re just a great reminder to think about the things you don’t want to slip by during a busy season.
I can’t wait to share my progress along the way and share my favorite reads from my Summer TBR.
What’s on your Summer Bucket List?
Until next time,
Phoebe

I love this list! I'm also thrilled we both have Hilary Duff in our summer plans -- I can't wait to see her!
Love your list! I definitely am putting together a summer reading tbr which I will enjoy during my planned vacation, and throughout the summer whether at the local lake or in my hammock or in the air conditioning. I plan to visit different farmers markets, make time for berry picking, and gardening. I definitely want to visit a cut flower farm this summer for inspiration as I expand my own cut flower garden. Lastly I want to enjoy some new summer recipes to add to my family’s best hits list, send letters and postcards to my pen pals frequently, and go see movies on bargain night… I went to the movies solo in May for the first time as I needed an escape and it was a delight!
