Happy Friday, friends!
My Winter break kicks off today and I feel like the literal embodiment of the “slams laptop shut” meme. I have busy weekend of holiday parties but knowing I don’t have to wake up early on Monday morning is going to be something that sustains me!!
I always get a little blue towards the end of the year. It’s hard not to when everyone is reflecting, sharing their highlights, and my birthday comes at the new year too. But I’m holding off on those feelings for now and soaking in the holiday magic. If you’re having a hard time with this season, for one reason or another, I promise you’re not alone. Take care of your heart this season, I know I’m trying to.
Next week, I’ll start sharing my “best of” lists and I look forward to sharing my favorite reads of the year with you!
Eight Dates and Nights by Betsey Aldridge—This was cute! It’s a fast read.
Emergency Contact by Lauren Layne and Anthony LeDonne—Oh my gosh, I did this on audio and it was SUCH a great audiobook. I’ve never seen Planes Trains and Automobiles but maybe I’ll need to add it to the list next year!
Christmas at the Ranch by Julia McKay—I started this book last night and didn’t make it too far but I am looking forward to curling up with my coffee this weekend and reading by the tree.
Taylor Swift: The End of an Era—I am loving the documentary so much! As a theatre person, seeing the crew and dancers and everyone being the scenes be showcased is so special to me. The two newest episodes made me emotional!
Update on My Christmas Movie List:
This week we watched The Santa Clause, the Felicity American Girl Movie, and The Merry Gentlemen. I need to watch so many more but I have lots of wrapping to do (I haven’t even started!!!!) and baking to do so I shall be watching while I get those things done!
Perfect Red Cardigan—Everything at J.Crew Factory was 70% off in store, so I finally got this red cardigan I’ve been eyeing for months! Perfect for the holidays and for a little brightness come January and February.
Faux Fur Cropped Jacket—Speaking of the sale…this jacket was on sale for $50.00 and I don’t have a cute, nice jacket to wear for evenings out. I can’t wait to style it all Winter!
